The import and export of services was stable and the growth rate in the month of May reached 14.1%. In the month of May, China’s service import and export volume was 378.87 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%, an increase of 9.1 percentage points from the previous month.
Export growth in emerging sectors has accelerated markedly. From January to May, the export of services in emerging areas totaled 284.55 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%, higher than the overall growth rate of 4.8 percentage points, accounting for 50.1% of service exports.
Imports in emerging sectors such as technology are growing rapidly. From January to May, in addition to insurance and finance, imports from other emerging sectors in China have maintained positive growth.
During the five months before transportation and travel, there was a positive growth every month, and the growth rate of the first five months of transportation services was above double digits.
The scale of service import and export deficits has further expanded. From January to May, China's service import and export deficit was 688.75 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17.9%. The deficit is mainly concentrated in the three major industries of travel, transportation and intellectual property fees, while professional management and consulting services, telecommunications computers and information services and processing services have become the main areas of surplus contribution.
